Benjamin Quarshie, MD, is a doctor of medicine serving patients at Promised Land Women's Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Quarshie (kwar-shee) was born in Accra, Ghana. He came to the United States as a teenager and attended high school at Kenwood Academy in Chicago, Illinois.
He joined a research laboratory at The University of Chicago as a senior in high school through a fellowship program funded by the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation. During this time, he began to develop an interest in medicine. Dr. Quarshie went on to graduate from the University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Endocrinology specialization.
He completed medical school at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine (Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine) in Iowa City, Iowa. He fulfilled his OB/GYN Residency at the University of Missouri at Kansas City (UMKC), serving as STAHR Program and SMART Program mentor.
In 2013, Dr. Quarshie worked as a research assistant at Kron Lab in Chicago, assisting in translational research for statins and cellular senescence in breast cancer cell lines.
He is passionate about health care equity and focused on caring for underserved populations. He has a special interest in all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Quarshie has vast experience in obstetric and gynecological surgical procedures, including Robotic surgeries.
When Dr. Quarshie isn’t busy working and caring for patients, he enjoys running. You might see him running around Atlanta.
